Frequently asked questions

What are the directions for use?

  1. Apply a small amount of Glasstastic Stain Remover onto a clean damp cloth or a light-duty (non-scratch) scrub pad.
  2. Rub lightly onto stained surface, working product evenly over the surface in an up and down and side to side motion.
  3. Rinse completely with cold water. Polish with a dry cloth.

How do I prep the surface prior to application of the product?

You want to clean the surface with a light cleaner or a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol/water to remove any loose dirt, debris or other contaminants that could get caught in the abrasive pad and leave a scratch on the glass.

Can I use the product with an electric grinder, orbital or buffer?

We generally recommend to do jobs by hand with a non-scratch pad and a pad holder. On larger jobs, a grinder, orbital or buffer can be used but you need to make sure you are using a non-scratch abrasive pad.  Our large pad can be cut down to fit up to a 6 inch round size.  Run the machine up to 1000 rpm or as fast as you can without the product coming off the pad as you run in across the glass.  Check the area often to ensure you are not making any swirl marks.

Can the product be used on other surfaces?

In addition to glass, the product and be used effectively on most non-painted hard, porous surfaces such as porcelain, tile, chrome, stainlesss steel, fiberglass, granite and marble.  Always test a small area first to ensure proper results.

How should I prepare the surface prior to application?

  1. For best results, apply to new glass or glass that has been restored with Glasstastic Stain Remover.

Does the Sealing Gel make my glass self-cleaning or maintenance free?

  1. The Glasstastic Sealing Gel bonds to the glass surface and fills in the microscopic pores in the glass surface creating a barrier against hard water deposits and other contaminants similar to a Teflon coating.  It is not self-cleaning or maintainance free.  Water spots or soap scum may build up over time but they will form on the coating and not bond to the glass and shold be easy to remove with a wet towel.  We recommend periodic cleaning with Glasstastic Maintenance Cleaner as needed which is specially formulated to not damage the coating.

How long can I expect the protective coating to last?

  1. The Glasstastic Sealing Gel should be effective for approximately 6-12 months with a single application.  Cleaning the surface periodically with the Glasstastic Maintenance Cleaner can prolong the life of the coating indefinitely.

What are the directions for use?

  1. Spray Glasstastic Maintenance Cleaner liberally onto surface.
  2. Wipe clean with and dry with a microfiber towel or terry cloth.
